 Abstract

In the modern realities of our country, the issue of increasing the stability and smoothness of a vehicle when driving on roads with poor surface, damaged roads and rough terrain is very acute. Vehicle vibrations affect such basic operational properties as stability, controllability, smoothness, as well as fuel consumption. The movement of a vehicle in the resonant mode of the wheels may be accompanied by a weakening of the vertical reaction of the road to them and even their separation from the road surface, which leads to a decrease in the stability of the vehicle. Resonant body vibrations are characterized by significant linear and angular movements of the body itself and the vehicle's payload (driver, passengers, transported cargo, etc.). These movements can lead to dangerous traffic situations and be a threat to other road users. Thus, unfavorable driving conditions are manifested in terms of vehicle stability and controllability, as well as smoothness, which determines the level of comfort. The proposed new active vehicle safety system allows to increase the smoothness of the ride. The results of the tests of the influence of the vertical road reaction stabilization system on the smoothness of the vehicle's ride can be used in combination with other road safety systems and increase its comfort, such as the electronic stabilization system, known as ESP (Electronic Stability Program), which is aimed at reducing the risk of losing control of the vehicle, especially in critical situations, which will positively affect the improvement of the vehicle's performance.

Keywords: automated vehicle suspension control, vertical road reaction stabilization, driving stability, vehicle smoothness.
