Abstract

The article presents the research findings on the evolution of ballistic missiles under the influence of wars and military conflicts that have stimulated the development of these technologies. The analysis covers key stages in the advancement of missile systems – from the first prototypes developed during World War II to modern hypersonic technologies. Military conflicts have continuously driven the improvement of missile weaponry, as evidenced by the dynamics of missile tests and the increasing military expenditures of leading global powers. The study provides an analysis of the correlation between the level of ballistic missile technological development and the frequency of military conflicts across different historical periods. The impact of contemporary geopolitical processes on the accelerated advancement of missile weaponry is also examined. The article includes a forecast for the development of ballistic missiles up to 2040, considering current trends in the military sector. Possible scenarios for the further expansion of missile programs in various countries are proposed.

The research findings are based on historical analysis, a comparative approach, and forecasting methods. The study identifies the interrelation between military conflicts, state investments in missile technologies, and their level of development. Graphical materials illustrate changes in missile program expenditures in response to global threats.

Special attention is given to historical factors that have influenced the development of ballistic missiles across different periods, as well as modern trends related to increasing international competition in the arms industry. Economic and technological aspects of missile production, which define their role in contemporary military conflicts, are also considered. The study reveals that the development of missile technologies is not only a consequence of military confrontations but also a crucial element of national security strategies.

Keywords: ballistic missiles, military conflicts, technological development, missile testing, military expenditures, strategic security, defense industry, forecasting.
